New Chinese Consul General Karachi meets Governor Sindh, Imran Ismail
Newly-appointed Chinese Consul General Karachi, Li Bijian called on Governor Sindh Imran Ismail at the Governor House in Karachi. The Deputy Consul General, Chen Xiaodong also accompanied the Li Bijian. Matters pertaining to the bilateral diplomatic relations, investment, trade and other relevant subjects came under the discussion among the parties. Governor Sindh highlighted the need for joint ventures to strengthen the bilateral trade relationship of China and Pakistan. Consul General invited the Governor Sindh for the visit of Port Qasim Power Plant.

On the occasion, Deputy Consul General Chen Xiaodong was also present,said a statement.
The meeting discussed Pakistan-China bilateral diplomatic relations, investment, trade and other matters of mutual importance in detail.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said that Pak-China joint ventures were the main reasons for the bilateral ties.
Chinese investors were keen to invest in different sectors of the province.
Imran Ismail invited Chinese industrialists to launch joint ventures with Pakistani industries.
The Consul General invited Sindh Governor to visit the state-of-the-art power project at Port Qasim. The project was initiated in May 2015 and completed in April 2018.
He said that Pak-China friendship was not only established at thegovernment but also at the public level.

The chief minister presented his memento, an ajrak and a Sindhi cap to the new consul general and welcomed him in Sindh. He asked him to consider Sindh his new home. Separately, the Chinese consul general in Karachi accompanied by the Chinese deputy consul general and the press attach met Sindh Governor Imran Ismail. The governor was informed that coal-based power generation had been launched at Port Qasim in Karachi in April 2018 under the regime of the China- Pakistan Economic Corridor project at a cost of $1,912 million. This power generation project had been successfully producing 1,320 megawatts of electricity since then, the meeting was told.
