31 Pakistani students depart for China under dual diploma programme
31 students from Punjab have departed for China under TEVTA Punjab’s Dual Diploma Programme, designed to enhance technical education and international collaboration. This second batch, part of a group of 70 students, includes participants in Software Technology and Advanced Construction Technology. The three-year programme—jointly run by TEVTA and the Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology—combines two years of study in Pakistan with a final year in China, covering four disciplines: Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Textile Technology, and Advanced Construction Technology. The initiative aims to equip Pakistani youth with global skills and deepen educational and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China.
Thirty-one students from Punjab have departed for China to continue studies under the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Punjab’s Dual Diploma Programme, an initiative aimed at promoting technical education and international collaboration. According to a Gwadar Pro’s report on Monday, the group is part of the second batch of 70 students selected for the programme.
Among them, 20 are enrolled in the Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Software Technology at the Government College of Technology (GCT) PGA Lahore, while 11 specialise in Advanced Construction Technology at GCT Taxila. The Dual Diploma Programme operates under an agreement between Punjab TEVTA and the Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SIIT), China.
The three-year curriculum includes two years of study in Pakistan and a final academic year in China, covering four disciplines: Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Textile Technology, and Advanced Construction Technology. The first batch of students under the programme recently returned to Pakistan after completing their third academic year in China. TEVTA said the initiative aims to equip youth with globally relevant skills and strengthen educational and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China.
