5 new corridors in upgraded CPEC version
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced that work on five corridors will begin in the upgraded China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Speaking on a TV program, he described the first corridor as a “corridor of growth” for economic development, and the second as a “corridor of livelihood” to alleviate poverty. The third corridor, termed the “corridor of innovation,” will focus on artificial intelligence, while the fourth will address the “green economy.” The fifth corridor, “regional development,” aims to extend CPEC benefits to other regional countries.

Expressing his views in a TV programme, the minister maintained that the first corridor would be a ‘corridor of growth’ to bring rapid economic development, while the second corridor would be a ‘corridor of livelihood’ to eradicate poverty.
Talking about the third corridor, which he called the ‘corridor of innovation’, will be on artificial intelligence while the fourth one will deal with ‘green economy’. Iqbal said benefits of CPEC will be shared with other regional countries to include them in the project under the last corridor of ‘regional development’.
