Construction work on Gwadar International Airport begins
Chairman CPEC authority Gen (Retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has informed that construction work on Gwadar International Airport has begun. All pending issues related to the project have been resolved and the containers carrying machinery have been cleared from the construction site. Chairman further said the labour force working on the project has been mobilized and given a briefing on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety measures to control and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Gwadar International Airport is located in Gurandani area, some 26 km northeast of Gwadar city of Balochistan province. The project, costing worth $230 million, will be financed through Chinese grant.
