1100 plus jobs announced at Thar Block-1 mining project under CPEC
CPEC is making progress without any delays. The second phase of CPEC aims to promote the socio-economic development of Pakistan. Chairman CPEC Authority Lt. General ® Asim Saleem Bajwa has informed that over 1100 jobs of various categories are opened under Thar Block-1 mining project by Shanghai Electric under CPEC. Chairman further underlined that locals would be given preference in jobs, subject to criteria and qualification.
Meanwhile, Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar ensured that the government is taking all necessary steps to expedite the development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) under CPEC.

Gen (R) Asim Saleem Bajwa said on Thursday that as many as 1100 new job opportunities had been announced for various categories under Thar Block-1 mining project. In a tweet he said Shanghai Electric at Thar Block-1 had announced the jobs. He said locals would get preference in jobs, subject to criteria and qualification.
August 27, 2020: Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar on Thursday said that the government is utilising all available resources to revive Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and develop the underprivileged areas of the country.
Talking to a private TV channel, he said that the government is taking practical steps to make SEZs instruments of industrial production, economic growth, export promotion and employment generation.
Hammad Azhar said that the government wants to introduce a one-window operation in SEZs to facilitate local and foreign investors. He said that the government has made serious efforts to promote tourism as an industry in the country in order to generate revenue and provide employment opportunities to the local population.
