Pakistan and China affirm commitment to regional peace and connectivity
While addressing a joint conference of Third Session of the Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue of China and Pakistan’, with Foreign Minister for the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi, in Chengdu, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi stressed joint commitment for peace in Afghanistan. He added that Pakistan and China has been playing their due role in peace process of Afghanistan. Moreover, he said that the CPEC is a joint collaboration to upgrade Pakistan-China’s bilateral and strategic relationship, and urged for timely completion of all ongoing projects. He also thanked China for its continued support towards Pakistan on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In an official statement, the Foreign Office of Pakistan has said that the Chinese side has reiterated its firm support to Pakistan in safeguarding its territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Pakistan and China desire sustainable peace in Afghanistan.
Addressing a joint press conference with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Chengdu today (Saturday), he said Pakistan and China has been playing their due role in peace process of Afghanistan.
He said Pakistan always condemns violence and supports a peaceful solution for the issue of Afghanistan.
The Minister stressed that neighbours of Afghanistan need to play a proactive role for bringing peace in the country.
He said Pakistan wants to see reconciliation an inclusive government in Afghanistan. He said despite some harsh statements Pakistan has shown restraint for large interest of peace and stability in the region.
Condemning attack on Chinese in Dasu, he termed the attack as a coward action. He said we will not allow anyone to sabotage Pak-China relationship. He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor is a clear manifestation of our intentions to upgrade our bilateral and strategic relationship.
He said China has always supported Pakistan’s stance on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi also thanked Chinese government for supporting Pakistan to fight against Covid-19.
