Bilawal welcomes Nong Rong’s appointment as Chinese Assistant Minister
Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has welcomed the appointment of former Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong as the Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs. FM Bilawal said Ambassador Nong Rong played a great role in bringing Pakistan and China even closer during his tenure as the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has welcomed the appointment of former Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong as the Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking to Gwadar Pro, the FM said Ambassador Nong Rong played a great role in bringing Pakistan and China even closer during his tenure as the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan.
“I am sure Ambassador Nong Rong will perform exceptionally as the Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs. He is a really competent man,” the FM mentioned.
Bilawal Bhutto said his interactions with Nong Rong were positive and productive in the recent months.
The FM underlined that Pakistan and China were Iron Brothers and will continue to boost cooperation in all fields.
He highlighted the present government’s commitment towards the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and completion of the CPEC projects on time.
Earlier, the State Council of China announced that Nong Rong, former Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, had been appointed Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Nong Rong was previously appointed Chinese ambassador to Pakistan in 2020. He held a farewell reception on January 16 in Islamabad announcing his departure.
Born in September, 1967, Nong Rong holds a master’s degree in business administration, senior management and international trade.
As an expert in trade and commerce, he served the government in the field of economics and trade prior to being appointed as ambassador to Pakistan. Nong Rong played a lead role in expediting work on the CPEC projects in Pakistan.
