China to provide technology for cervical cancer screening
A hospital in the federal capital has partnered with Landing Med, a medical technology company based in Wuhan, China, to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into cervical cancer screening. Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH) and Landing Med are collaborating under the China-Pakistan AI Cervical Cancer Screening Program to revolutionize screening for Pakistani women. Landing Med has provided advanced self-developed cervical cancer screening devices and consumable items. The initiative, led by Yasir Khan Niazi, CEO of ANTH, aims to seamlessly incorporate AI technology into cancer screening, with the AI-powered devices promising rapid, efficient, and accurate detection of cancer cells within minutes. The collaboration underscores the importance of efficient testing methods, particularly in countries with significant female populations like Pakistan, as emphasized by Dr. Sun Xiaorong, Founder and President of Landing Med.

According to a statement issued by Dr Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH), the collaboration, driven by the pursuit of cutting-edge research and development, aims to redefine the landscape of cervical cancer screening for Pakistani women.
“Under the ambit of the China-Pakistan AI Cervical Cancer Screening Program, Landing Med has provided multiple state-of-the-art, self-developed cervical cancer screening devices, complemented by a large number of sets of consumable items.
“This infusion of advanced technology is poised to bring about a transformative shift in the early detection of cervical cancer, utilising the power of artificial intelligence,” it stated.
Yasir Khan Niazi, CEO of ANTH, described the initiative as a pivotal step towards seamless integration of technology into the fabric of cancer screening for Pakistani women.
“The AI-powered devices, equipped with unparalleled speed, efficiency and accuracy, promise to detect traces of cancer cells within minutes. Beyond swiftness, the devices leverage comprehensive algorithm models and decades of diagnostic data, ensuring early diagnosis that is speedy, precise and reliable,” he said.
Dr. Sun Xiaorong, Founder and President of Landing Med, emphasised the crucial role of efficient testing methods, particularly in countries with substantial female populations like Pakistan.
