PM Kakar reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to CPEC success in meeting with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during a meeting with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong in Islamabad. Emphasizing the importance of close collaboration, the Prime Minister welcomed the Chinese delegation, expressing gratitude for the strong partnership. He conveyed appreciation for sentiments expressed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang during his visit to Beijing in October 2023. The meeting also addressed the regional situation, with the Chinese Vice Foreign Minister assuring continued support for Pakistan’s socio-economic progress, highlighting the enduring “iron-brothers” bond between the two nations.

The Prime Minister extended a warm welcome to the Chinese Vice Foreign Minister and his delegation, expressing Pakistan’s deep appreciation for its all-weather, strategic, cooperative partnership with China.
Reflecting on his visit to Beijing for the 3rd Belt and Road Forum in October 2023, the Prime Minister conveyed his profound appreciation for the warm sentiments expressed by President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang towards Pakistan. He also conveyed best wishes for the Chinese leadership.
Beyond discussions on Pakistan-China relations, the meeting also addressed the regional situation.
