Government to facilitate Chinese investors and ensure ease of doing business in Pakistan: PM Khan to Chinese Investors
Prime Minister Imran Khan visited China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) at Beijing and spoke to Chairperson CCPIT Ms Gao Yan. Later Prime Minister Khan addressed the Chinese Enterprises at CCPTI. He said that Pakistan is following China’s footsteps in establishing SEZs and allowing businesses to grow and generate profit. Wealth creation by these businesses will help country uplift the poverty; it will also attract further investment in the country. Khan expressed government’s resolved to make Pakistan enormously business-friendly for investors and encourage profitability. A CPEC Authority is established to overview all ministries and resolve issues regarding CPEC projects, which will work from PMO, Khan added. Khan mentioned the government’s accomplishments related Gwadar to port, free zone, international airport, tax concessions and Smart Port City Master plan. Premier described that under the second phase of CPEC, Pakistan is emphasising on boosting Chinese investment in sectors such as textile, manufacturing, IT and financial services, physical and technological logistics, food processing and agriculture, tourism and hospitality. Other industries such as real estate, oil and gas, coal and gold are also encouraging. Khan said Pakistan has established a separate security force to protect Chinese workers.
