Chinese consul general meets interior minister in Lahore

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi highlighted a new dimension in Sino-Pak relations due to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during a meeting with China’s Consul General Zhao Shiren in Lahore. He expressed pride in the strong ties between the two countries, noting China’s consistent support for Pakistan and their shared views on global issues. Naqvi assured that the Pakistani government had implemented extensive measures to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals in the country and appreciated the cooperation of Chinese citizens in these security efforts. The discussion also covered mutual interests, Pak-China relations, CPEC projects, and the security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan.

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi said on Monday that a new dimension had been added to Sino-Pak relations courtesy the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking to China’s Consul General Zhao Shiren, who called on him in Lahore, he said that every Pakistani was proud of relations between the two countries because China had always stood by Pakistan. “Both countries have similar views on global issues,” he said.

The minister told the consul general that the government had taken all measures possible for the safety of Chinese nationals living in the country. “We praise the Chinese citizens for cooperating with us in the provision of foolproof security to them.”

Matters of mutual interest, Pak-China relations, the CPEC projects and the security of Chinese citizens living in Pakistan came under discussion at the meeting.
