Gwadar airport, CPEC-II will open new avenues of prosperity: Ahsan Iqbal
Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, announced that the upcoming Gwadar airport and the initiation of CPEC-II, with China’s assistance, will unlock new opportunities for Pakistan’s prosperity. He revealed plans to open five economic corridors and suggested establishing a cargo hub in Gwadar to boost business in Balochistan. Highlighting the importance of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Iqbal emphasized the potential of rail and road links to enhance trade with Central Asia and Europe. He also mentioned the possibility of reviving trade routes between Gwadar and Oman to further stimulate regional economic activity.

Talking to private television channel, he said we are going to start CPEC-II, with the help of China.
He said five economic corridors will also be opened in near future with China’s support.
Ahsan Iqbal further said a Cargo hub can be set up in Gwadar to increase business activities for the people of Balochistan.
Commenting on SCO role for regional connectivity, he said rail and road links will strengthen business relations with Central Asian states and Europe.
In reply to a question, he said Gwadar and Oman routes can be revived to enhance economic activity in this part of the region.
