Pakistan, China reaffirm commitment to CPEC phase 2, prioritize security and economic progress
Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal and Vice Chairman of China’s National Development and Reform Commission Zhao Chenxin reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects during a meeting. Iqbal highlighted the unique friendship between the two nations and emphasized the transformative potential of CPEC Phase 2. He lauded Chinese workers as “heroes of Pakistan” and reassured their safety as a top priority, vowing to counter threats to the initiative. Zhao Chenxin reiterated China’s dedication to advancing CPEC in alignment with the visions of President Xi Jinping and Pakistan’s leadership.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Pakistan-China partnership and accelerating the implementation of CPEC initiatives.
Ahsan Iqbal highlighted the enduring relationship between the two countries, stating, the friendship between Pakistan and China is unique and unshakable. He emphasized that CPEC’s second phase would take economic relations between Pakistan and China to unprecedented heights.
He praised Chinese workers and experts for their contributions to the success of CPEC, referring to them as “heroes of Pakistan.”
Ahsan Iqbal underscored that ensuring their safety remains the top priority of the Pakistani nation.
He further assured the Chinese Delegation that Pakistan is taking decisive action against terrorist elements, adding, that the enemies of CPEC will never succeed in their malicious goals.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman Zhao Chenxin reaffirmed China’s commitment to making CPEC Phase 2 a reality, in line with the vision of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Pakistan’s Prime Minister.
