China reaffirms strong support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, development, and CPEC progress: Ambassador Jiang
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong reaffirmed China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and development, highlighting the rapid progress in bilateral ties. Speaking at a ceremony, he emphasized China’s readiness to align Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) cooperation with Pakistan’s national development plan, noting the pivotal role of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has attracted $25.4 billion in direct investment and generated employment. He also lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent successful visit to China and stressed that President Xi Jinping prioritizes strong, friendly relations with neighboring countries as a core diplomatic principle.
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong has said China fully supports Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as its economic and social development.
Addressing a ceremony, the Ambassador said Pakistan-China relations are moving rapidly in the right direction and that Beijing is ready to align belt and road initiative cooperation with Islamabad’s Development Plan.
The Ambassador said CPEC, a part of BRI, is an initial and important project and is creating employment opportunities.
He further said 25.4 billion dollars in direct investment has been made under CPEC.
The Chinese Envoy said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif undertook a successful visit to china a few months ago after assuming office, and met Chinese President Xi Jinping.
He said president Xi Jinping attaches great importance to relations with neighboring countries and had presented the basic principle of diplomatic policy with neighboring countries.
He said the aim of diplomatic policy with neighboring countries is to promote friendly and cooperative relations.
