Planning Minister reviews CPEC projects, emphasizes support to farming sector and Gwadar development

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has directed the swift and efficient distribution of Chinese-donated agricultural machinery to provincial departments, urging completion within ten days to benefit grassroots institutions. Chairing a CPEC-related meeting in Islamabad, he highlighted that the donation includes 40 tractors, 40 multipurpose harvesters, and other equipment aimed at strengthening agricultural research and farming capacity. He also instructed relevant authorities to expedite the completion of the transmission line to Gwadar’s south free zone to operationalize the 1.2 MGD desalination plant promptly.

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has directed the speedy and effective distribution of Chinese donated Agricultural Machinery to the provinces.

Chairing a meeting regarding CPEC, in Islamabad today, he the provincial departments should distribute the machinery to grassroots departments within ten days.

The meeting was informed that donated machinery includes forty tractors, forty multipurpose harvesters, and other machinery, which will enhance the capacity of agricultural research institutions and farming communities in Pakistan, ultimately contributing to the country’s food security and economic development.

The Minister for Planning directed Power Division, Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), and Ministry of Maritime Affairs to ensure completion of transmission line to Gwadar south free zone so that the Desalination Plant of 1.2MGD can be operationalized at the earliest.
