China-Pakistan job fair 2025 launched, offering 500+ opportunities to skilled Pakistani youth

In a landmark event underscoring the strength of Pakistan-China cooperation, the China Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan (CCCPK) and the National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Pakistan under the guidance of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Pakistan, successfully inaugurated the Job Fair 2025 on Tuesday at the Pak-China Friendship Centre, Islamabad.

Held under the theme “Bridging Skills; Building Futures”, the job fair brought together 20 leading Chinese companies operating in Pakistan, offering over 500 employment opportunities to talented Pakistani technical and vocational graduates.

The event was graced by Jiang Zaidong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, and Honorable Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training (FE&PT), as Chief Guests.

The opening session featured keynote remarks by Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for FE&PT, Yang Guangyuan, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Pakistan, Wang Huihua, Chairman CCCPK, along with Gulmina Bilal, Chairperson NAVTTC.

In her Valedictory note, Wajiha Qamar, stated that this event is more than a job fair; it is a declaration that Pakistan is unleashing its potential, and Pakistani youth is on the way to making the future of the country. She applauded the way NAVTCC has been championing URAAN Pakistan Programme.

Creating leaders, building economies and not just jobs. She briefed the attendees of the job fair that boys, girls, madrassah students, and differently abled children; all are being given the skills that are relevant to the future i.e., IT, e-learning platforms, game development, AI, hi-tech skills, etc. She affirmed that “Pakistan doesn’t walk alone; China has been walking with us. Like family. We don’t just build roads, we build futures.”

In his special remarks, Yang Guangyuan highlighted that China and Pakistan are working together for a new phase of CPEC. He expressed his confidence in the leadership of both countries and informed the gathering that in the 1st quarter of this year, the majority of Chinese companies expressed to expand their businesses in Pakistan. Minister Counselor noted that, “youth is the greatest asset of Pakistan.”

He remarked that it was the first time that the relevant entities of both countries had arranged a job fair. This especially comes into play since the 2nd phase of CPEC is to focus on manufacturing, which would lead to significant job creation in Pakistan, he said.

Wang Huihua expressed his heartiest gratitude to all attendees. He highlighted the contributions of CPEC, which were not only limited to the addition of energy megawatts in the national grid or the addition of kilometers to highways but also towards massive job creation. He informed the attendees that currently, more than 30,000 Pakistani nationals are employed at the member Chinese companies of CCCPK.

Gulmina commenced her remarks by expressing her gratitude and acknowledgment towards CCCPK for their relentless efforts in coordination with NAVTTC to make this event happen. She also extended her special thanks to Yang, Wajiha Qamar, the NAVTTC training providers and all the graduates, with the support of whom this event can be made a success. She informed the participants that NAVTTC has produced a work-ready workforce of men, women, transpeople, religious students; essentially all the colors of Pakistan.

She added that skill training is the master key to progress and this is something that we have learned from China. The Chinese speed and quality is due to its people. She also expressed the hope to commence a series of job fairs from Islamabad to different parts of Pakistan.

The fair, generously sponsored by Tang International Education, ITMC Technology Co. Limited, UNI Services International (Pvt.) Limited, and City & Guilds served as a vital platform for career guidance, CV collection, and face-to-face interviews between graduates and recruiters.

A special afternoon session included a VIP round of stalls by the Chief Guests, who engaged with both employers and job seekers, appreciating the talent pool and the commitment of companies toward skill transfer and local hiring.

This collaboration between CCCPK and NAVTTC highlights the significance of this initiative in aligning Pakistan’s vocational talent with modern industrial needs, while fostering international partnerships.

The event concluded on a high note, with strong participation from youth, industry leaders, and government stakeholders, marking another milestone in China-Pakistan cooperation toward a “Skilled Pakistan.”
