“Luban College” launched in Pakistan to nurture engineering talent
China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) Pakistan Office and Pakistan’s National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) have inaugurated the “Luban College – Up We Build (UWB) College” at NUST, strengthening China–Pakistan cooperation in education and industry. Established under CSCEC’s global Luban Craftsman Program, the initiative aims to develop construction-sector talent through skills training, academic exchange, and applied research, serving as a long-term platform for industry–education integration and technical collaboration.
ISLAMABAD, Dec. 13, (Gwadar Pro)- The China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) Pakistan Office and the Pakistan’s National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) have jointly inaugurated the “Luban College – Up We Build (UWB) College” at NUST recently, marking an advancement in bilateral educational and industrial cooperation.
Named after Luban, the revered ancient Chinese master craftsman and architectural pioneer symbolizing innovation and excellence, the college is established under CSCEC’s global “Luban Craftsman Program”. This sustainable initiative, guided by the vision “Inspire to Rise, Build to Thrive”, aims to foster talent development in the construction industry worldwide.
The plaque unveiling ceremony was presided over by Mr. Wang Yaodong, General Manager of CSCEC Pakistan, and Professor Dr. Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector of NUST.
Wang Yaodong highlighted that the college will serve as a bridge for establishing long-term cooperation with Pakistani universities in talent cultivation and technical exchange, further promoting China-Pakistan industry-education integration.
Dr. Rizwan Riaz commended CSCEC’s contributions to infrastructure development in Pakistan. He expressed hope that the “Luban College” would become a key platform for practical engineering experience and research application, helping cultivate high-quality technical professionals for Pakistan.
Moving forward, CSCEC Pakistan will leverage this platform to deliver skills training, academic exchanges and joint programs, inject expertise into the local construction sector and strengthen technical and cultural bonds between the two sides.
