Pakistan, China sign MoUs to boost desalination, agri technology, tea sector cooperation
Pakistan and China signed three MoUs in Changsha, witnessed by President Asif Ali Zardari, to enhance cooperation in desalination, agriculture, and the tea industry. The agreements include a seawater desalination project in Karachi with Sindh government and Lucion Environmental Technology Group, agricultural technology collaboration with Long Ping Hi-tech Information Company, and tea sector development involving Pakistani and Chinese firms to strengthen trade, industry growth, and people-to-people ties.
The entities of Pakistan and China have signed three Memorandums of Understanding, covering desalination, agricultural technology and tea industry cooperation.
The signing ceremony, witnessed by President Asif Ali Zardari, was held in Changsha, Hunan Province.
The MoUs reflect a focused effort to advance practical collaboration in key sectors.
The first MoU was concluded between the Government of Sindh and Lucion Environmental Technology Group for collaboration on a seawater desalination project in Karachi aimed at increasing the city’s supply of water.
The second MoU signed between the Government of Sindh and Long Ping Hi-tech Information Company provides for cooperation in agricultural technology.
The third MoU, related to tea sector, was signed between MESKAY & FEMTEE Trading Company, Hunan Tea Group and Jiaolong International Technology to promote cooperation across all areas of the industry, with a view to supporting the development of tea industry in both countries and strengthening economic, trade and people-to-people ties.
