Prime Minister meets senior Chinese corporate executives

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met senior executives of Chinese companies in Hangzhou to discuss investment and business cooperation with CATL, StarCharge, Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group and Sheng Huo Neng Yuan Ke Ji Company. Talks focused on renewable energy, batteries, EV charging infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, and expanding manufacturing and investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who is currently on an official visit to China, met with senior Chinese corporate executives representing a number of important companies in Hangzhou on Sunday.

As part of his outreach to China’s corporate sector, the Prime Minister met with representatives of Sheng Huo Neng Yuan Ke Ji Company, CATL, StarCharge and Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group.

He met with Agnes Siu, CEO of Sheng Hou Neng Yuan Ke Ji Company. The discussion focused on cooperation in the renewable energy sector. The Prime Minister highlighted the emerging renewable energy market and its increasing appetite in Pakistan. He also highlighted the policy steps taken by the government to facilitate the renewable energy sector, especially solar power.

The Prime Minister also met with Executive President of CATL, Mr. Oscar Luo. Discussions with CATL focused on cooperation in advanced batteries, energy storage and solar-linked solutions to support Pakistan’s clean energy transition.

A meeting of the Prime Minister with the Chairwoman of Starcharge Group, Ms. Danwei Shao, was also held. The meeting centered on electric vehicle charging infrastructure and smart mobility systems.

Xin Yuan, President Xiuzheng Pharmaceuticals, called on the Prime Minister. Discussions with Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group covered pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare cooperation and investment opportunities in Pakistan’s growing medical sector.

In the meetings, the potential of increasing investment, establishment of manufacturing facilities and expansion of the existing facilities in Pakistan was also discussed in detail.

In all the meetings, the Prime Minister highlighted the policies of the government for ease of doing business in Pakistan and also shed light on the investment-centric steps taken by the government. He emphasized the importance of Business-to-Business cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese companies to further strengthen the existing fraternal ties between Pakistan and China.
