CM Punjab terms Allama Iqbal Industrial City a game-changer
Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) Chairman Mian Kashif Ashfaq met with Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar in CM House, Lahore. Mian Kashif apprised CM Punjab about the work progress of Punjab's Special Economic Zone also known as Allama Iqbal Industrial City Faisalabad. Usman Buzdar exchanging views said M-3 SEZ would become a game-changer by rapidly bringing industrialisation in the province. He appreciated the FIEDMC Chairman for his efforts in making Allama Iqbal Industrial City attractive for foreign investors and pledged to offer assurance to investors. Chairman FIEDMC on occasion said Prime Minister Imran would inaugurate first SEZ M-3 under CPEC on Thursday, December 26, 2019.
LAHORE: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Sunday that the government would continue to undertake the mission of rendering public service without caring any hurdle. He said the PTI government believed in doing politics of truth and was not convinced by false claims. Those who believed in doing politics of unrest would never succeed in their nefarious designs, he added.
Artificial projects were launched by previous rulers whereas the PTI government abolished this wrong tradition, he added.
Now the projects are being initiated keeping in mind the needs of masses, he maintained. Funds allocated for progress and prosperity of south Punjab cannot be utilised for any other purpose but for their welfare, he added.
The previous governments diverted funds being allocated for south Punjab towards other projects. People of south Punjab lived in a state of poverty and distress during previous tenures, he lamented.
Previous rulers under the garb of progress duped the people of south Punjab, he said, adding that the PTI government had allocated 35 percent funds in budget for the uplift of south Punjab.
The PTI government will spend funds earmarked for south Punjab only for the progress and prosperity of people and will make south Punjab a role model with regard to progress, the CM added.
Meanwhile, Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) Chairman Mian Kashif Ashfaq called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar here Sunday.
Kashif Ashfaq briefed him about pace of progress and development for setting up preferential economic zone named Allama Iqbal Industrial City Faisalabad under the CPEC. He briefed Usman Buzdar about arrangements being made for the inauguration of the Allama Iqbal Industrial City.
Usman Buzdar while expressing his views on this occasion said Allama Iqbal Industrial City would prove to be a game-changer in connection with expediting the process of industrialisation in Punjab.
The interest shown by foreign investors in Allama Iqbal Industrial City was welcoming, he added. He said the Punjab government had provided a conducive environment for the promotion of investment across the province. All possible steps would be taken to provide security to investors.
The chief minister directed the officials concerned that road construction should be started at the earliest in order to link Allama Iqbal Industrial City with Sahianwala Interchange and arrangements for the inauguration of Allama Iqbal Industrial City should be completed as soon as possible.
Chairman FIEDMC Kashif Ashfaq said it was the first preferential economic zone under the CPEC and would be inaugurated on December 26. More than 25 Chinese companies had made agreements for investments in the industrial city.
More Chinese and other foreign companies had also shown their interest for investments. Prime Minister Imran Khan would inaugurate Allama Iqbal Industrial City Project on December 26.
