Government to ensure low-cost energy supply to Rashakai SEZ under CPEC
To promote industrialization in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial administration has decided to provide low-cost electricity to the industrial units of Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ) under CPEC. The authorities further ensured energy supply to domestic and business sector of province.
Secretary Energy and Power, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mohammad Zubair Khan has said that the provincial government would supply cheap electricity produced from the resources of the province to the industrial units of the Rashakai Economic Zone through wheeling charges.
He expressed these views while speaking in a progress review meeting on the energy sector projects initiated under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Beside, Coordinator of the provincial government for CPEC Kamal Khan and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation (PEDO), Engineer Naeem Khan, Additional Secretary Energy, Iftikhar Ahmad Marwat, Deputy Secretary Khaliq Dad Wazir and others attended the meeting.
The meeting was told that the revival of the industrial sector is the top priority of the incumbent provincial government and all available resources are being utilised for the purpose that would help economic stability and arrest of unemployment in the province.
On this occasion, the coordinator of the KP government for CPEC, Kamal Khan said that industrial estates are being established for the development of the industrial sector wherein cheap electricity would be sold to them through wheeling module.
The secretary energy further said that establishment of Transmission and Distribution Company in the province is in progress that would enable the province to supply its produced electricity to both domestic and industrial sector of the province.
