Punjab police prioritize the security of Chinese experts
Punjab police have prioritized the security of Chinese experts working on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and other development projects in Pakistan. Punjab police have directed the Special Protection Unit (SPU) to perform their duties more reliance and commitment and ensured to facilitate SPU officials to ascertain the smooth execution of projects under CPEC.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Naval Cheif has expressed satisfaction over Navy’s preparedness to address the maritime security challenges pertaining to CPEC and Gwadar port.
LAHORE: Punjab IG Shoaib Dastagir has said provision of better security to foreigners, especially to Chinese experts working on CPEC and other developmental projects is the top priority of the Punjab Police therefore, officers and officials of Special Protection Unit (SPU) should work and perform their duties with more commitment, hard work, high alert and diligence.
The officials deployed at sensitive projects should be briefed by their duty in charges concerned regarding sensitivities of their duty on daily basis, he added.
He said the departmental promotion is the fundamental right of those SPU officials who have merit, seniority and good character and they should be promoted without any delay by ensuring all necessary steps so that the officials may work with more hard work and commitment. He said that promotion of dutiful officials is not only a fundamental right but also a departmental prize for good performance, therefore, the officials should be given their due right by regularly holding promotion board session.
He added that, in view of different challenges posed to SPU officials, new SOPs should be formed for the SPU officials deputed over security of CPEC projects in which there should be clear guidelines under comprehensive strategies for compensation of difficulties so that every possible facility could be provided to the officials.
(April-29): Command and Staff Conference of Pakistan Navy was held in Islamabad on Wednesday with Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi in the chair.
According to a statement issued by a navy spokesman, field commanders participated in the conference via video link.
The forum reviewed regional security situation, operational preparedness of Pakistan Navy, training matters of soldiers, and welfare activities of the force. Naval Chief was briefed about Pakistan Navy’s ongoing and future endeavors. He expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness of the Pakistan Navy.
The conference reiterated to continue relief efforts in various parts of the country in view of the Coronavirus outbreak along with operational preparations. While making an overall appraisal of the prevalent security environment, the Chief of the Naval Staff expressed his confidence over the operational preparedness of the Pakistan Navy.
Earlier in January, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi has said that the Coastal Command is fully ready for the security of Gwadar port and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
According to a statement issued by a navy spokesman, Admiral Abbasi said this while addressing the annual Efficiency Competition Parade 2019 of Pakistan Navy Coastal Command in Karachi.
The Naval chief expressed satisfaction over operational readiness of Pakistan Navy in prevalent maritime challenges including security aspects related to Gwadar Port and maritime components of CPEC.
