A Chinese bus firm donates 200,000 masks to help Pakistan combat COVID-19
China’s support to Pakistan, extended on government and private-level to fight COVID-19, is a testimony of the two countries true friendship. The bus companies from both sides have joined hands to control and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Pakistan. China Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co Ltd has noted that bilateral cooperation is strengthened amid COVID-19. The bus company has shared anti-coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding public transportation with the knockdown factory in Lahore. It has also donated 200,000 masks to the government of Punjab to combat COVID-19.

On top of sharing tips on the control and prevention of Covid-19 pandemic, the bus firm has also donated a batch of 200,000 masks to Punjab. Provincial Minister for Transport Jahanzaib Khan Khichi, Secretary Transport Asad-ur-Rehman Gilani and other relevant officers had received the donation.
Moreover, the equipment on the public transport products exported to Pakistan during the Covid-19 pandemic has been upgraded. After the upgrade, the air conditioner and the overhead ventilator are connected to refresh the air and every bus is equipped with an ultraviolet lamp which can undertake the interior disinfection in a short time.
The company has also listed all of the tips for the disinfection regarding buses, bus stations, ticket lobbies, and waiting rooms. Whenever a passenger steps into the ticket lobby, he must have his body temperature taken. Anyone not wearing a mask is not allowed to enter the ticket hall, and they shall be disinfected again before getting on the bus. “The cooperation with our iron brother Pakistan is taking a hit amid Covid-19 pandemic,” the company noted. “But we believe that with the strengthening of mutual trust and cooperation and the gradual easing of the lockdown, we will resume work and production as soon as possible,” it added.
According to the Yutong Bus, they did well in Covid-19 control and prevention at headquarters in China, and therefore they recommended all of the SOPs to their Pakistani employees in Lahore.
