Afghan Interim Govt expresses desire to join CPEC
The provisional Afghan government has conveyed its intention to officially become a part of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s extensive ‘Belt and Road’ infrastructure project, as well as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Haji Nooruddin Azizi, the acting commerce minister of Afghanistan, has announced that Kabul will dispatch a technical delegation to engage in discussions with China. Notably, China recently made history as the first nation to designate an ambassador to Kabul. The Afghan Commerce Minister emphasized that they have formally requested China’s inclusion in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the Belt and Road Initiative.
