Ambassador Jiang attends distribution ceremony of Chinese agri equipment and tools
A distribution ceremony for Chinese agricultural equipment was held in Islamabad, attended by Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong and Pakistan’s Federal Minister for National Food Security, Rana Tanveer Hussain. Ambassador Jiang emphasized the importance of China-Pakistan cooperation in food security and criticized U.S. tariffs for undermining global trade and developing countries’ efforts. He reaffirmed China’s readiness to work with Pakistan against unilateralism. Minister Hussain appreciated China’s support, highlighting its positive role in stabilizing the global economy and reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to multilateralism and shared prosperity.
ISLAMABAD: The Distribution Ceremony of Chinese Agricultural Equipment and tools was held on Monday as Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan and Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong stated that both China and Pakistan are traditional agricultural countries, and both need to safeguard food security to ensure a better life for our peoples.
He said the United States’ unilateral imposition of tariffs violates the legitimate rights and interests of all countries, undermines the multilateral trading system, and jeopardizes developing countries’ efforts to protect food security.
“We stand ready to work with Pakistan to resist unilateralism and tariff bullying, safeguard our shared interests, and uphold international fairness and justice,” he added.
Rana Tanveer Hussain said that China’s assistance would significantly boost Pakistan’s agricultural development. Amid a volatile international economic landscape, China has maintained resilient economic development, demonstrated bright growth prospects, and played a leading role to uphold the world economic order and multilateral trading system, injecting much-needed certainty into global economic advancement, he said.
He said Pakistan, like China, firmly supports the multilateral trading system and is committed to promoting shared development and prosperity among nations.
