Ambassador Yao Jing handed over 800 bicycles donated by China Red Crescent Society to PRCS
A ceremony was organised to handover 800 bicycles gifted by Red Crescent Society of China to with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to enhance the PRCS volunteers’ reach in the areas of first aid. Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing visited PRCS and pledge to promote cooperation and partnership with PRCS to decrease the hardships of vulnerable section of the population in Pakistan. He underscored the need to advance the bilateral cooperation between China and Pakistan in the areas of human development and community service to improve quality of life. Yao Jing expressed resolved to explore further avenues humanitarian segment of Sino-Pak relations. Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) launched the Volunteers on Wheels initiative in regards to which the Red Crescent Society of China gifted 800 cycles. On occasion, PRCS Chairman Dr Saeed Elahi recalled the Chinese Red Crescent Society’s $100,000 emergency relief fund to PRCS for the rehabilitation operation in Mirpur district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir after the earthquake in September 2019. China also bestowed $200,000 relief fund to the PRCS for the rehab operation in Balochistan after the heavy a rainfall which caused destruction and loss of lives, Chairman PRCS added.
