China acted upon the State of Madina’s Principles by taking care of its people: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Imran Khan addressing the Pakistan Stock Exchange Top 25 Companies Award ceremony said that China implemented the principles of state of Madina by taking care of repressed section of population and lifting 700 million Chinese out of poverty. The PSX Award ceremony held at Karachi Stock Exchange today on December 27, 2019. Prime Minister was accompanied by the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Finance Adviser, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Adviser for Commerce, Trade and Industry, Abdul Razak Dawood, Governor State Bank and Chief Minister Sindh.

Prime Minster Imran Khan said that China had followed the principles of state of Madina, payed special attention to the downtrodden segment of the society and pulled 700 million people out of the poverty.

“China promoted wealth creation and lifted 700 million people from poverty,” the premier said while addressing the PSX Top 25 Companies  Awards ceremony held at Karachi’s Pakistan Stock Exchange on Friday.

PM Imran arrived the port city on a daylong visit accompanied by President Dr Arif Alvi earlier in the day.

The prime minister urged the business community to play its due role in fulfilling his vision of a welfare state. “The business community has a very important role in attaining this objective and no nation can prosper without the creation of wealth.”

Premier Imran said his government is making all-out efforts to create a business-friendly environment in the country.

While assuring traders, he said they do not need to worry about investigations of the National Accountability Bureau, adding that his government’s upcoming ordinance would insulate the business community from NAB’s domain.

“Many of my friends would be happy to listen to this news as they are also facing NAB references.”

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Minister Water Resources Faisal Vawda, Minister Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Zaidi, Adviser Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Adviser Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and State Bank of Pakistan Governor Raza Baqir were also present in the ceremony.

PM meets business community

The prime minister also held a meeting with a delegation of the country’s prominent businessmen and assured them that the government would extend every possible support in resolving their concerns.

He maintained that the business fraternity had a key role in the development of the country.

American Business Council President Adnan Asad, Pakistan Business Council Chairman Yawar Ali, Pakistan Business Council CEO Ahsan Malik, S M Munir, Siraj Qasim Teli, Karachi Chamber President Agha Shahab, Arif Habib, Mirza Iftikhar Baig, Khalid Masood and Zahid Syed among others were present on the occasion.

The delegation expressed its satisfaction over the government’s economic policies.
