China for peace and prosperity of Afghanistan, urges US to take responsibility

While addressing the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on the Afghan Issue held virtually, China’s State Councilor Wang Yi said that Afghanistan’s neighbors are driven to ensure peace and prosperity in the country. He also urged all regional members to lend support for the country’s reconstruction efforts. Wang Yi also announced that China will send medical aid and food supplies worth 200 million yuan to Afghanistan. He expressed hope that the Taliban can bring cohesiveness in the country, and that the US and its allies can fulfil their responsibility in the country. The dialogue was attended by foreign ministers from Pakistan, China, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
