China gives old Embassy building to Pakistan as present

In a good-will gesture China has announced to gift its old embassy building located at diplomatic enclave to Pakistan. Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi visited the building and praised the Chinese government’s decision of giving old Chinese embassy building to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Details show that China will transfer the control of the building after its complete renovation and will also pay all the dues for the redecoration. It is reported that the Foreign Service Academy is likely to be shifted to the Chinese gifted building.

ISLAMABAD: In a good will gesture, the Chinese government has announced to gift its old embassy building located at diplomatic enclave in Islamabad to Pakistan.

According to the details, the Chinese embassy will hand over the building to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after its complete renovation and will bear all the expenses incurred on the renovation of the building.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, during his visit to the building, has lauded the Chinese government’s offer of transferring the old China embassy building in Islamabad to Foreign Service Academy, Radio Pakistan reported.

Talking to the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jung, the foreign minister extended special thanks of Prime Minister Imran Khan for this good move of China.

Sources said that the Foreign Service Academy will be relocated to the building gifted by China after renovation.

Earlier on October 6, Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed had said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would visit to discuss bilateral economic relations and CPEC related projects with Chinese leadership.

The railway minister, in a video message, had said that China was forever friend of Pakistan which had always helped out Pakistan in difficult times.

“Pak-China friendship is higher than the Himalayas, deeper than oceans and sweeter than honey,” he had added.

Sheikh Rasheed had reiterated that nation wanted to see Pakistan prosper, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan would takeout country from the economic crisis.
