China’s economic rise driving growth and opportunity in Pakistan: Saif Ur Rehman
Federal Tax Ombudsman’s Coordinator Saif Ur Rehman highlighted that China’s rapidly expanding economy is bringing major benefits to Pakistan by boosting industrial growth, job creation, and regional connectivity. Speaking at a roundtable in Lahore, he said Chinese investments in manufacturing, agriculture, and technology are transferring vital expertise to Pakistan’s workforce and enhancing export capacity. He noted that China’s demand for Pakistani goods offers new export opportunities, while the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) continues to transform infrastructure and trade networks, positioning Pakistan as a key partner in China’s global economic outreach.
LAHORE, Oct 12 (APP): Federal Tax Ombudsman’s Coordinator Saif Ur Rehman said on Sunday that China’s rapidly growing economy is delivering significant benefits to Pakistan by fostering economic growth, industrial expansion, and regional connectivity.
Speaking at a round table conference on “Impact of China’s Growing Economy on Pakistan” here, he said Chinese investments in manufacturing, agriculture, and technology sectors are creating thousands of jobs while transferring valuable technical expertise to Pakistan’s workforce. These collaborations, he added, have strengthened Pakistan’s export potential by improving logistics and helping local industries reach larger regional and global markets.
Saif Ur Rehman said that China’s rising demand for agricultural products, minerals, and textiles offers Pakistan new opportunities to diversify exports and stabilize its balance of payments.
He added that as China expands its global trade networks, Pakistan is emerging as a key partner through the multibillion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has transformed infrastructure, energy, and transport systems while connecting Gwadar Port with western China and beyond.
He noted that China’s economic rise also contributes to regional peace and shared prosperity by promoting mutual cooperation and sustainable growth. “As China’s economy continues to grow, Pakistan stands to gain even more from this strategic and time-tested partnership,” he added.
