Chinese envoy and Asad Umar pledge to boost industrial cooperation under CPEC

The newly appointed Chinese ambassador to Pakistan H.E Nong Rongmet the Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar and discussed phase two of CPEC. The main focus of the meeting was industrial cooperation under CPEC. Both expressed satisfaction on the recently held Joint Working Groups (JWGs) meetings. Asad said that Pakistan-China relations are unique and exemplary. Ambassador Nong Rong said that China values this unique relationship and hopes to strengthen it further.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China vowed to expedite work on the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) especially related to industrial cooperation. Nong Rong, the new Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan called on the Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar here in Islamabad on Thursday.

The matters related to bilateral relations, projects under (CPEC) came under discussion. They agreed to work together to make the second phase of CPEC a success. The minister and the ambassador discussed the CPEC projects in detail, especially those related to industrial cooperation.

They expressed satisfaction on the Joint Working Groups (JWGs) meetings held in the recent weeks, for various sectors. Minister Asad Umar welcomed the ambassador on his new assignments and extended best wishes for his endeavours. He said that the China-Pakistan relationship extended beyond the government to government cooperation as the bond between the people of the two countries was also very strong.

The Chinese ambassador thanked the minister, and said that the Chinese side also highly valued the relationship, and it would be his endeavour to build on the work done in the last many years.
