Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson highlights CPEC’s role in strengthening China-Pakistan ties
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning highlighted the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a significant achievement of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), stating that it has yielded early successes in transport infrastructure, energy, and Gwadar Port. She emphasized its positive impact on economic and social development in Pakistan, contributing to regional connectivity. Mao Ning expressed China’s commitment to closely collaborate with Pakistan in implementing the project, focusing on high standards, people-centered, and sustainable development. According to official data, the CPEC has brought $25.4 billion in direct investment to Pakistan, created 236,000 jobs, and facilitated the generation of 8,000 megawatts of electricity, along with the construction of 886 kilometers of the national core transmission grid.
