Chinese New Year grand celebrations kicked off in Pakistan
The China Cultural Center and the Cultural Office of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan have collaboratively initiated a series of activities to celebrate the “Happy Chinese New Year-2024 as Year of the Dragon” in Pakistan, extending greetings globally from taikonauts at China’s Tiangong space station. The celebrations feature a variety of online events showcasing Chinese culture, arts, and tourism, in partnership with local entities such as China Window in Peshawar and Silk Road Cultural Centre in Quetta, as well as the MONAL restaurant group in Islamabad, offering locals the chance to experience the festive atmosphere. Chinese New Year, also known as the ‘Spring Festival,’ holds great cultural significance, symbolizing renewal, familial bonds, and self-reflection, and is celebrated with vibrant displays of talent, fireworks, and the color red. Further activities will be launched on social media platforms, inviting Pakistani friends to join in the festive celebrations.
