CPEC Joint Working Group on Science and Technology holds preparatory meeting
The newly established Joint Working Group (JWG) on Science and Technology under CPEC has conducted a preliminary meeting to discuss the challenge of COVID-19 in Pakistan. This new JWG has been included in the CPEC framework during President Arif Alvi’s maiden visit to China to express solidarity in the wake of COVID-19. The numbers of Joint Working Groups under CPEC are extended to ten after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on establishing JWGs on Science and Technology and Agriculture.
Besides the two newly established JWGs, there are eight working groups already functional in a range of areas including planning, energy, transport, and socio-economic development.
