CPEC top priority, China supported Pakistan in need of hour: Firdous Ashiq Awan

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Firdous Ashiq Awan has termed CPEC top priority of government. She maintained that Pakistan does not concur to United States' recent apprehensions on CPEC and termed such concerns baseless. In her recent tweet, she said the great (Belt and Road) corridor would open pathway of development and prosperity not only for Pakistan and China but also for the whole region. Pakistan's friendship with China is profound and age-old, China also backed Pakistan in every need of the hour; CPEC is Pakistan's door to economic prosperity, she added. Special Assistant said the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) will open window of opportunities for Pakistanis in the employment market. She stated that commercial loans taken from China will be drastically reduced in the next few years. Firdous Ashiq Awan made these remarks in response to Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of US, Alice G. Wells' recent remarks on CPEC and China where she allegedly called CPEC a debt quagmire for Pakistan and for China only project.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has dubbed China Pakistan Economic Corridor as first priority of Pakistan.

In a series of tweets, she said this great passage will open new vistas of economic development and prosperity for not only Pakistan and China, but also for the whole region.

Not concurring with the US concerns on the project, Dr. Firdous Ashiq said CPEC is a guarantor to our economic development.

She said China is a long-standing and deep friend to Pakistan and it has always supported us in every hour of need.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said Pak-China friendship has assumed a proverbial status and it is sweeter than honey, higher than Himalaya and deeper than oceans.

The Special Assistant said economic zones to be established under CPEC will generate job opportunities for people.

She said the commercial loans taken from China will witness remarkable reduction in the months and years to come.
