Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, inaugurated the event, praising PECB’s 56 years of academic excellence and its role in promoting intercultural understanding. BEIJING, Nov 9 (China Economic Net) – Pakistan Embassy College Beijing (PECB) celebrated its annual International Cultural Day with great enthusiasm, highlighting global unity and cultural harmony among its diverse student community.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, inaugurated the event as the Chief Guest. The celebration featured colorful performances, traditional attire, art displays, and cuisines from around the world, reflecting the shared spirit of friendship and learning among students representing 54 nationalities.
In his address, Ambassador Hashmi said that PECB, as the first international school established by a foreign mission in Beijing, has completed 56 remarkable years of academic excellence. He commended the college for promoting intercultural understanding and mutual respect among students from different countries. “This institution has become a symbol of learning and shared futures, where diversity strengthens unity and knowledge bridges nations,” he remarked.
Ambassador Hashmi noted that the event underscored the college’s role in nurturing global citizens who contribute to deeper cooperation under initiatives such as the Belt and Road and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. “The spirit of this college reflects the essence of the Pakistan-China ironclad friendship, which continues to inspire collaboration and trust,” he added.
Principal Ms. Shazia Amjad, in her welcoming remarks, expressed pride in the college’s long-standing reputation for excellence in academics and cultural exchange. She said that International Culture Day mirrors the school’s vision of building understanding through education and respect for all cultures.
