Deputy PM Dar invites Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan under CPEC
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar invited companies to set up processing plants in Balochistan for producing value-added mineral products for both domestic use and export to China during a meeting with Vice President of Minmetals and Chairman of Metallurgical Cooperation of China, Chen Jianguang, in Beijing. He praised the enduring partnership between Pakistan and Minmetal and MCC, highlighting their role in vital mining projects in Balochistan. Dar emphasized the significant increase in copper exports to China from Pakistan, reaching $1.22 billion in 2022 from $132 million in 2018, and highlighted the aim of the second phase of CPEC to boost B2B collaboration between private enterprises of both nations. He also mentioned that CPEC offers Minmetals and MCC access to modern transport infrastructure, improving logistical efficiency and reducing transportation costs for both raw materials and finished products.

He added that CPEC provides Minmetals and MCC with access to modern transport infrastructure to enhance logistical efficiency and reduce transportation costs for both raw materials and finished products.
