Deputy PM Ishaq Dar commends China Three Gorges Corporation’s role in Pakistan’s energy sector

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar discussed renewable energy’s priority status in Pakistan and incentives for international investors with China Three Gorges Corporation’s Executive Vice President Wu Shengliang in Beijing. Dar praised the corporation’s projects in Pakistan, highlighting Karot and Jhimpir as exemplary. He also emphasized Pakistan’s reform agenda and opportunities for foreign investment in infrastructure and renewable energy. The corporation expressed commitment to hasten completion of ongoing projects like Kohala and Mahl Hydro Power Projects in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has termed renewable energy as one of the priority sectors identified by Pakistan along with the incentives offered to international investors in this regard.

He was talking to the Executive Vice President of China Three Gorges Corporation and Chairman of China Three Gorges International Limited Wu Shengliang in Beijing today.

Ishaq Dar appreciated the renewable energy projects of China Three Gorges Corporation in Pakistan, including in Karot and Jhimpir that serve as model projects.

The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted Government of Pakistan’s reform agenda and shared an overview of the opportunities for Foreign Direct Investment especially in infrastructure development and renewable energy sectors.

China Three Gorges Corporation Vice President expressed his determination to expedite completion of the in-progress projects like Kohala and Mahl Hydro Power Projects, in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
