Exports to China reach $2.41bn to rise 0.1% in 11MFY24

In May 2024, Pakistan’s exports to China amounted to $172.6 million, contributing to a total of $2.4093 billion for the first 11 months of FY 2023-24, a slight 0.1% increase from the previous year. Overall, Pakistan’s exports in May 2024 reached $2.792 billion, a 27.08% year-on-year increase. From July to May 2023-24, total exports were $28.07 billion, a 10.65% rise. The textile and leather sector saw a 17.6% increase, while the agro and food sector grew by 44.8% in May 2024, with the latter reaching $7.4641 billion over the 11 months, a 37.6% growth.

Pakistan’s exports to China in May 2024 amounted to $172.6 million, bringing the total exports to China for the first 11 months of FY 2023-24 to $2.4093 billion, as per a report by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

This figure represents a slight increase of 0.1% compared to the same period in FY 2022-23, when exports to China were $2.407 billion, according to Gwadar Pro.

The TDAP report also highlighted that Pakistan’s total goods exports to all partner countries in May 2024 reached $2.792 billion, showing a 27.08% increase compared to the same month in the previous financial year.

From July to May 2023-24, Pakistan’s exports to all partner countries totaled $28.07 billion, reflecting a 10.65% increase over the first 11 months of FY 2022-23.

The textile and leather sector saw exports of $1.6455 billion in May 2024, marking a 17.6% increase compared to the same month in the previous year. The agro and food sector also experienced significant growth, with exports totaling $642 million, a 44.8% increase.

For the period of July to May FY 2023-24, the agro and food sector’s total exports reached $7.4641 billion, registering a 37.6% growth.
