Foreign Minister Dar holds talks with Chinese Vice Premier on CPEC upgrades and financial stability

In Brussels, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing, who pledged China’s support to stabilize Pakistan’s financial situation. Both reaffirmed the importance of Pakistan-China cooperation in civil nuclear technology, emphasizing their enduring strategic partnership. Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the One-China policy and the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Zhang expressed China’s readiness to enhance CPEC and broaden cooperation in various sectors. Dar, attending the First Nuclear Energy Summit, will engage in discussions on nuclear energy and sustainable development with leaders from other participating countries.

BRUSSELS: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday held a meeting with Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing wherein the latter underlined that China would assist Pakistan in stabilizing its financial situation, ARY News reported.

In the meeting held on the sidelines of the First Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels, both sides agreed on the importance of the longstanding cooperation between Pakistan and China in civil nuclear technology.

Vice Premier Zhang and Foreign Minister Dar noted with appreciation the traditional ‘Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership’ and iron-clad friendship as an exemplary and unique relationship.

Foreign Minister Dar reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding support for the One-China policy. He underscored that there was an absolute consensus in Pakistan on relations with China and Pakistan’s strong commitment to the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He expressed China’s readiness to upgrade CPEC and to further strengthen cooperation in diverse fields including industry, mining, and information technology.

It is pertinent to mention here that Foreign Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar is in Brussels to attend the First Nuclear Energy Summit.

Atomic Energy’s first session will kicked off on Thursday in Brussels where Ishaq Dar is representing Pakistan.

On this occasion, Dar will meet the leaders and foreign ministers of the countries participating in the meeting.

In the meetings, nuclear energy and ways to help advance sustainable development will be discussed among all the leaders.
