Foreign Minister Lauds Sino-Pakistan’s Joint Strategy for Kashmir Issue, Updates on MoUs signed with China
Talking about Prime Minister's visit to China, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, Sino-Pak friendship is rare to such an extent that they take decisions on all matters of shared interests with mutual consultation. He was speaking to media at Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing, China. Qureshi pointed out that China and Pakistan had mutually adopted a strategy against Indian aggression in Kashmir on August 16, 2019, during a meeting at the Human Rights Council in Geneva. He informed that both leaderships also deliberated on Afghan Peace Process. Foreign Minister apprised the details of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed between China and Pakistan. Projects were related to the development of Gwadar Port and establish it as a regional trade and connectivity hub. A desalination plant of 5,000 tons of water per day would be set up to resolve water shortage in Gwadar and provide clean drinking water to Gwadar city. MoUs on other areas such as building smart classrooms, providing apparatus to handicap people and agreement on curbing narcotics were also part, FM told.v
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan shared its assessment and feedback from the Indian Occupied Kashmir with the Chinese leadership.
While talking to the media at Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said both the sides also discussed the Afghan peace process.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said China, Russia and other regional countries want peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan and the development in the region for which Pakistan is playing its role.
The foreign minister said the Chinese leadership had been taken into confidence on all the issues.
Regarding facilities to the Chinese investors and entrepreneurs, he said the CPEC Authority had been established to provide all facilities to them as early as possible.
The Foreign Minister said an MoU signed between the two countries is related to the development of Gwadar Port and to make it a hub of regional trade and connectivity.
He said under another MoU, to redress water shortage in Gwadar, a desalination plant of 5000 tons of water per day would be set up by China to provide clean water to Gwadar port and the new Gwadar city.
The two countries would enhance cooperation in education sector and in this regard an MoU has been signed with Higher Education Commission for smart classrooms.
Another MoU was inked to improve the lives of disabled people as they will be provided with equipment and chair.
Similarly, both the countries agreed to help each other for narcotics control and China would give equipment to Pakistan for the purpose.
