GCUF signs MoU with Lushan Botanical Garden China
Vice Chancellor of GCU Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, is on an official visit to China to attend the 5th Belt and Road China–Pakistan Agriculture Forum at Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) in Wuhan. The event highlighted the need to strengthen academic cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, with appreciation from Pakistan’s Ambassador to China for HZAU’s collaborative efforts. Prof. Rauf-i-Azam promoted GCUF’s internationalization agenda and invited Chinese scholars to partner in research and academic exchanges. During the visit, he signed MoUs with Lushan Botanical Garden to establish Pakistan’s first botanical garden and with HZAU to expand cooperation in agricultural and biological sciences, including joint research, faculty exchanges, and collaborative international projects.
FAISALABAD: Vice Chancellor of Government College University Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam is currently on an official visit to China where he is participating in the 5th Belt and Road China–Pakistan Agriculture Forum at the invitation of Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), Wuhan.
The ceremony was addressed by Prof. Yan Jianbing, President of HZAU, who emphasized the importance of strengthening Belt and Road academic cooperation. Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, H.E. Khalil Hashmi, commended the longstanding Pakistan–China friendship and appreciated HZAU’s initiatives for promoting joint research.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam highlighted GCUF’s commitment to internationalization and invited Chinese students and researchers to collaborate with GCUF in Faisalabad. He also encouraged GCUF faculty and students to participate in academic and research activities in Wuhan and other leading Chinese institutions.
During the visit, the Vice Chancellor signed a landmark (MoU) with Lushan Botanical Garden, operating under the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The agreement aims to establish Pakistan’s first botanical garden for environmental education, and scientific tourism.
Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam also signed a significant MoU with Huazhong Agricultural University to enhance collaboration in agricultural and biological sciences. The agreement covers joint research and teaching initiatives, exchange of faculty and postgraduate scholars, shared supervision frameworks, and joint applications for international research projects.
