Gilgit Baltistan and AJK to reap dividends of CPEC’s connectivity: Sher Alli Arbab

The Parliamentary Committee on CPEC organized a regional dialogue on “Azad Jammu & Kashmir and CPEC: Opportunities in Renewable Energy, Connectivity & Tourism” in collaboration with FES Pakistan. Chairman Parliamentary Committee on CPEC Sher Ali Arbab said the Committee in its recommendation will suggest measures to the government for the expedition of CPEC projects after consulting stakeholders and regional governments to collect maximum benefits of the opportunity. Chairman remarked that the 4-M expressway (Mansehra-Muzaffarabad-Mirpur-Mangla) project of AJK under CPEC would reduce the distance while linking it to Gilgit Baltistan directly which would benefit stakeholders associated with the trade route besides boosting the tourism industry in the region. He further said the Committee would suggest the government to prioritize this project along with a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in AJK so that the region could collect maximum benefits.
