Government Issues Rs 360 million for ML-1’s Initial Design

Pakistan government has discharged Rs 360 million for preliminary design for advancement and overhaul of Main Line 1, commonly known as ML-1 railway project. These funds will also be used for the development of dry-port nearby Havelian, KPK under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2019-2020. ML-1 project is a strategic CPEC project which will upgrade Pakistan Railways track speed and build a second track. The Planning Ministry’s recent data shows that the government has assigned a total of Rs1.8 billion for initial designs during the fiscal year 2019-20.

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has released Rs 360 million for preliminary design for up-gradation and rehabilitation of main line (ML-1) railway project and establishment of dry-port, near Havelian under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2019-120.

The railway project is an important strategic part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the government had allocated Rs 1.8 billion for its preliminary design during the year 2019-20, according to latest data issued by the Planning Ministry.
