Governor Sindh, Chinese CG discuss educational initiatives
Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori met with Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong to strengthen bilateral relations and explore projects under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). They agreed to offer free Chinese language classes to IT students, emphasizing the deep Pakistan-China friendship. Governor Tessori highlighted Chinese investments in poverty and unemployment reduction and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’s potential for regional prosperity. Plans include teaching Chinese to 50,000 students on-site and 450,000 online. They also visited the IT market and the Bell of Hope, with Consul General Yundong commending the welfare initiatives and IT class arrangements.
Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori met with Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong at the Governor House on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by Chinese Commercial Consul Li Yong and Vice Consul XieShuye. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring various projects under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was an agreement to offer free Chinese language classes to students enrolled in IT courses. Governor Tessori emphasized the deep and enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, describing it as “higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the ocean.” He acknowledged China’s support during challenging times and highlighted how Chinese investments are aiding in reducing poverty and unemployment in Pakistan. Governor Tessori mentioned that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project is poised to usher in a new era of prosperity in the region. He announced plans to commence Chinese language courses at the Governor House, aiming to teach the language to 50,000 students on-site and an additional 450,000 students online.
Following the meeting, the Governor, accompanied by the Chinese Consul General, visited the IT market and the Bell of Hope. Governor Tessori briefed the Consul General on the objectives and significance of the Bell of Hope. Consul General Yundong praised the arrangements for the IT classes and the facilities provided to students, commending the welfare initiatives led by the Governor as commendable and promising.
