Ishaq Dar calls for stronger collaboration b/w Pakistan, China in TVET

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, during his visit to the Luban Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Exhibition Hall in Tianjin, stressed the need to strengthen Pakistan-China cooperation in technical and vocational education to support sustainable economic growth. He highlighted that such collaboration enhances Pakistan’s human capital and strengthens the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. Dar discussed expanding joint efforts under the Luban Framework, especially in emerging industries, and interacted with Pakistani students benefiting from the Luban Initiative, emphasizing the role of advanced technical skills in preparing youth for future industrial needs.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has emphasized on strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) collaboration between Pakistan and China to create opportunities for sustainable economic growth.

He expressed these views during his visit to the Luban Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Exhibition Hall in Tianjin, China on Sunday.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that this cooperation not only enhances Pakistan’s human capital but also contributes to the broader Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

During his visit, the Deputy Prime Minister was briefed on the operations of Luban Workshops and their existing cooperation with Pakistan.

Ishaq Dar also had exchanges with the Chinese hosts on further deepening cooperation under the Luban Framework, with a focus on scaling up joint efforts in technical and vocational education in new and emerging industries.

The Deputy Prime Minister also met with Pakistani students receiving training through the Luban Initiative. He engaged them in discussions on their learning experience and future prospects, underscoring the importance of equipping Pakistan’s youth with advanced technical skills to meet the evolving industrial needs.

Luban Workshops, established by Tianjin municipal authorities, have become a global model for sharing high-quality technical education.
