Ishaq Dar, Wang Yi discuss south asia tensions and CPEC 2.0 in Beijing

During his official visit to Beijing, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, reaffirming the enduring Pakistan-China friendship. Both leaders agreed to deepen cooperation for regional peace, development, and the fast-tracking of CPEC Phase 2.0, focusing on industry, energy, and job creation. They expressed shared concerns over Pakistan-India tensions, advocating for peaceful dialogue. Dar condemned the Shangla attack on Chinese workers, assuring justice and enhanced security cooperation. The meeting concluded with commitments to strengthen collaboration at global forums, pursue institutional reforms, and advance climate and development goals.

During the talks, Dar also condemned the Shangla attack that killed Chinese workers. He called it an attack on friendship. He assured strict action against those behind it. Wang Yi thanked Pakistan for standing with China during this tragedy. Both sides pledged stronger security cooperation.
