Mohsin Naqvi meets Chinese counterpart in NYC

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with his Chinese counterpart on Thursday at China’s UN mission in New York. They discussed Pakistan-China relations, security matters, and China’s support for Pakistani law enforcement, including training and advanced technology use. The Chinese minister praised the establishment of Islamabad’s Special Protection Unit for safeguarding foreigners, especially Chinese citizens, and assured full cooperation in enhancing Pakistani law enforcement capabilities. He invited Naqvi to the Global Security Forum in China this September, which Naqvi accepted. Earlier, Naqvi met with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan to discuss the security of Chinese citizens, emphasizing that their protection is a top government priority. An advisory group from China’s Ministry of Interior is scheduled to visit Pakistan soon.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with his Chinese counterpart on Thursday at the office of the People’s Republic of China’s mission to the United Nations in New York.

The two officials discussed Pakistan-China relations, security matters, and China’s support for Pakistani law enforcement agencies. They also covered topics related to training and the use of advanced equipment and technology.

Chinese minister praised the establishment of the Special Protection Unit (SPU) in Islamabad, with an aim to safeguard foreigners, particularly Chinese citizens.

He assured full cooperation in enhancing the training and capabilities of Pakistani law enforcement agencies.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress on the Dasu incident, he invited Minister Mohsin Naqvi to attend the Global Security Forum in China this September.

Minister Naqvi accepted the invitation and thanked Chinese minister for the support.

Earlier this month, Naqvi on Sunday met the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong to discuss the protection and security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan.

“The protection of our Chinese brothers working for Pakistan’s development is the government’s top priority. The everlasting friendship between Pakistan and China is unbreakable, and any conspiracy against it will be defeated,” stated Naqvi.

The interior minister stressed that there is no room for negligence in the security plan for foreign nationals.

An advisory group from China’s Ministry of Interior is also scheduled to visit Pakistan soon.
