NA Speaker Pervaiz Ashraf urges to further expand parliamentary cooperation between Pakistan & China

Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan called upon by Mr. Nong Rong, Ambassador of China in Pakistan at the Parliament House, Islamabad. The Speaker thanked the Ambassador for his assistance and his love from the Chinese government and people. He reaffirmed that Pakistan was fully aware of its obligations to safeguard and provide for the needs of its Chinese brothers and sisters who resided there. The Speaker highlighted the need of regular parliamentary contacts between the two countries.

September 7, 2022: Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan was called upon by His Excellency Mr. Nong Rong Noon, Ambassador of China in Pakistan, today, at the Parliament House, Islamabad.

The Emissary congratulated Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on his election as Speaker of the Assembly. While remarking on the havoc wreaked by floods in Pakistan, he said both Government and people of China equally share the pain felt by Pakistan. China has extended assistance in both cash and kind and her country would continue to lend a helping hand as it always did.

The Speaker expressed gratitude to the Ambassador on the support and love received from to Government of China and its people. He further said that China had always proved that friendship between the two countries was exemplary. Both countries had extended support to each other at critical junctures both at local and international fora.

While commenting on promoting parliamentary cooperation between the two states, the Speaker underscored the importance of regular parliamentary exchanges. Such interactions would help in learning from parliamentary experiences of each other and create mutual opportunities under CPEC to work for the benefit of their respective diaspora.

The Speaker also conveyed his condolences on recent earthquake in China which took away many precious lives apart from damaging infrastructure. He also assured the envoy that Pakistan was fully cognizant of its responsibilities to protect and provide conducive working conditions to Chinese brethren living in the country and no one would be allowed to sabotage bilateral relations between the two states.
