Pak-China Tour operators exchange views for deepening bilateral tourism cooperation
The tour operators and travel agents of Pakistan and China explored strategies to strengthen bilateral tourism collaboration in a webinar co-hosted by Pakistan Tourism Development Cooperation (PTDC) and the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing. More than twenty-five tourism marketing agencies, travel agents, and tour operators from the two countries attended the event.
BEIJING, March 4 (APP): The tour operators and travel agents of Pakistan and China at a webinar discussed ways and means for deepening bilateral tourism cooperation.
The webinar was jointly organised by Pakistan Tourism Development Cooperation (PTDC) and Embassy of Pakistan Beijing.
The event was attended by the more than twenty five tourism promotion agencies, travel agents and tour operators from the two countries.
The leading Chinese companies which attended the webinar included Ctrip,Qiyongyou, Chinese Overseas Travel and Tourism Market, Qingdao Tourism Group and Chengdu Overseas Tourism Group etc.
In his opening remarks, Managing Director of PTDC, Aftab ur Rahman Rana, gave a detailed briefing to Chinese tour operators about tourism potential of Pakistan and incentives to expand bilateral tourism cooperation between the two countries.
He underlined that under the broad rubric of MoU on Tourism Exchange and Cooperation signed last year, Pakistan looked forward to expanding B2B linkages between the tour operators of both countries and the support of the Chinese government for the development of Pakistan tourism industry.
During the webinar, the tour operators and travel agents of both sides gave a detailed presentation of their areas of expertise and exchanged views for deepening bilateral tourism cooperation.
The Embassy of Pakistan briefed the audience about the trend in China’s tourism sector and highlighted various areas of cooperation for deepening two-way tourism flows.
The tourism promotion companies of both sides were also informed that during Prime Minister’s recent visit to China, Pakistan and China had decided to celebrate 2023 as the Year of Tourism Exchanges which would spur tourism exchanges between the two countries.
